An animal sanctuary at Playa Macao

A Natural Sanctuary — A Mission from the Heart

Just 1 km from the famous Macao Beach and the village of El Macao, far from the noise and mass tourism, there is a different kind of place.

A place where nature protects, where time slows down, and where every life counts.

We rescue abandoned, injured or malnourished dogs and horses — often found in critical condition or victims of severe abuse. Many would not have survived without swift intervention. Here, they finally find safety, care, kindness and respect.

Our mission

Our mission is both simple and demanding: to treat, feed, vaccinate, sterilise, rehabilitate — and above all, to restore trust and the will to live.

Each animal is guided patiently until it is ready to begin a new chapter.

Adoption

Once recovered, we carefully seek responsible and loving adoptive families. Adoptions are handled with the utmost care: prospective adopters must demonstrate the emotional, practical and financial capacity to guarantee long-term wellbeing.

We follow up afterwards, so that our rescued animals stay safe.

Here, luxury is not material

It is in the eyes of an animal learning to trust again, in the bonds that form day after day, in the silence, the space and a generous natural setting.

Take part, if you wish

Guests who wish to can take part in the daily care, at their own pace.

Some leave transformed; others become volunteers and support our mission over time.

What your stay pays for

Most of the income from stays and bookings goes to the care, feeding and wellbeing of the animals we have taken in.

By staying with us, you are not only booking a holiday — you are helping to save lives.

Thank you for being part of this human adventure.

We hope to welcome you soon — for our animals, and perhaps for yourself too.

Kind regards,

The team at Eco Lodges Chalets Tropicales Playa Macao - COOPER's Ranch
